I'm not familiar with the Trump/O'Donnell issue; but I remember being glad that O'Donnell brought 9/11 up in the mainstream. Unfortunately not much came of it at the time. I generally don't follow the mainstream anymore and so I actually don't have any opinion on Trump. Even if I were to tune into the mainstream, I've never been much of a political cheerleader (or even follower). I tend to size up political things incorrectly. I can look back on politics and make a halfway decent assessment - never contemporaneously though.
